May is Mental Health Month 2012
Join Mental Health America and our over 240 affiliates nationwide as we celebrate 2012 May is Mental Health Month. There are two themes for this year’s activities:
Do More For 1 in 4 is a call to action to help the 1 in 4 American adults who will have a diagnosable, treatable mental health condition every year and that treatment works, recovery is the expectation, and screening is a first step to help.
Healing Trauma’s Invisible Wounds brings to light the many sources of trauma, its profound health effects, the cost to trauma survivors and society, and new hope for healing.
2012 Capitol Hill Day
Mental Health America is teaming up with the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare to continue our long-held tradition of highlighting our presence and issues on Capitol Hill!! The events will take place on Monday, June 25th and Tuesday, June 26th.
Our partnership with the National Council offers a significant opportunity to come together as a community to amplify our voices on Capitol Hill while keeping attendees' expenses to a minimum. There is no registration fee for Mental Health America attendees for the two-day event.

You're on the Team
Visit Mental Health America’s exciting new education tool, You’re On The Team, designed to help patients and providers work together using a process called shared-decision making.
Shared decision-making is a process that leads to a mutual decision by doctor and patient on what course of treatment to follow and what steps the patient needs to take to enact his or her plan.
You’re On The Team educates patients and doctors on the importance of shared-decision making and provides concrete steps and checklists for making the process a reality.
You won’t want to miss the great videos showing how the practice works!
Welcome
With over a century of advocacy, public education, and the delivery of programs and services, Mental Health America is the country's leading nonprofit dedicated to helping all people live mentally healthier lives. ![]()
